What Happens When Two Reports Disagree on Discount?
Two Tableau workbooks both define Discount, with different formulas.
The Demo Guide is for prospects evaluating MetaKarta. It covers the demo package, the source metadata it harvests, metadata management scenarios drawn from the User Guide, and Semantic Hub demos that start from Snowflake, Tableau, and Power BI. When you finish, you can reconcile conflicting metrics and show the governed result deployed back into the tools.
Note
Some of the features detailed in this document may not apply and/or be available for the particular edition/version you are using.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I get the MetaKarta demo package?
[NEEDS ANSWER: Where do prospects and solution engineers obtain the metadata management demo package, and who provides it? The live Demo Package page ends at "The demo packaging is available..." with no further text.]
See the demo package page.
How do I set up the demo source metadata?
Extract the demo package, then copy the contents of its Models folder into C:\Demo. Every harvested model in the scenarios uses paths relative to C:\Demo, so the scenarios expect that location. Once the files are in place, you can harvest the source metadata and move on to the scenarios.
What do the metadata management demo scenarios cover?
The scenarios follow the Steps and Examples sections of each feature in the User Guide. That keeps the demo and the documentation in sync: any scenario you run has a matching User Guide page with the full procedure, which you can share with the prospect after the session.
What are the setup requirements for the Semantic Hub demos?
Import the Semantic Model metamodel first. Go to MANAGE > Metamodel > Import and select C:\MetaIntegration\conf\Metamodel\Semantic Model.xml. After the import, the shared metadata repository holds the models and configurations the Snowflake, Tableau, and Power BI demos use.
See the Semantic Hub demo overview.
How does the Semantic Hub demo from Snowflake work?
It reverse-engineers the Snowflake schema SEMANTIC_HUB.MINI_RETAIL_DW into a semantic model catalog, importing tables, columns, metrics, and joins. You set deployment properties, fix a join loop the import surfaces (join loops aren't currently supported), and build a smaller deployment model around the sales fact table before deploying.
How does the Tableau demo reconcile metrics with different formulas?
Two workbooks on shared Snowflake data sources are merged into one semantic model across four cases: metrics unique to each workbook, identical metrics that merge into one, and same-name metrics with different formulas. You convert expressions to Snowflake SQL by hand or with Convert Model Expressions, remove the duplicate, and deploy to Snowflake and back to Tableau.
Can the demo show Snowflake Cortex Analyst using the governed model?
Yes. After you deploy the reconciled model to Snowflake as semantic views, the Power BI and Tableau demos open those views in Snowflake Cortex Analyst for natural-language queries. The Power BI demo then redeploys the model to Power BI against the same semantic views, so you can compare report metrics against the originals.
